What is the shelf life of coolants?

It depends on the coolant base and averages to 1–3 years. However, there are products, for example, monoethyleneglycol-based red antifreeze fluid VAMP, which fulfil properly their functions during 5 years. It is not worth using the coolant longer than specified because additives contained in the antifreeze fluid wear during operation. This accelerates corrosion processes and increases the adverse effect on the cooling system parts.
