When should the coolant be changed?

The coolant level should be checked once in 3–6 months. If you are sure of leakage, add the antifreeze fluid recommended in the vehicle operation manual. If the coolant boils off, add only distilled water to the system. The fluid shortage poses a risk of inadequate cooling and therefore overheating of the engine; this may cause serious damages of engine parts.
